Giant Blue Morpho

Morpho Didius, the Giant Blue Morpho butterfly is a Neotropical butterfly belonging to the subfamily Morphinae of family Nymphalidae. The blue morpho butterfly is among the largest butterflies in the world, with wings spanning from five to eight inches. The Morpho Didius, aka the Giant Blue Morpho, is the largest species of Morphos, with a wingspan of almost 6 inches and is only found in certain sections of Peru. Their vivid, iridescent blue coloring is a result of the microscopic scales on the backs of their wings, which reflect light.
