Mormolyce phyllodes the Violin beetle is a beetle that belongs to the Carabidae family of ground beetles. It is found in the Indo-Malaya region. The beetle can reach a length of 60-100 millimeters and has a flat leaf-shaped, shiny black or brown body with distinctive violin shaped translucent elyta. The shape of its body has been compared to a guitar or violin, and if viewed side on, appears to be completely flat.
