Giant Water Bug

Lethocerus indicus the Giant Water Bug is in the freshwater hemipteran family Belostomatidae, and is native to Northeast and Southeast Asia. It is the largest water insect and is a predator of aquatic ecosystems in Taiwan. The adult body length can reach 8 cm, and it can be found in wetlands such as paddy fields, ponds, and lakes.
